Rick and I are humbled by the number of people who refer to us as angels here on earth. The truth of the matter is that it takes lots of angels for us to be able to do what we love. We have been blessed with many generous people who help us make the sanctuary what it is meant to be, a home for senior and special needs dogs. We have managed over the last few years to raise enough money to keep our vet bills paid and the food bowls full. Part of that success comes from the hours and hours of behind the scene work that produces our fund-raiser videos, my book, our calendars, etc. While we fully intend to continue with these efforts, it would be so beneficial to us to have some kind of idea of what our bank account will look like each month.
When we are contacted about an ill senior dog that needs a soft place to land and some excellent vet care, we have several considerations that play a part in our decision. One is, of course, the space needed to add another to our pack. But probably more important is the funds needed to provide the care that baby may need. Each month many of our permanent residents need annual blood work, dentals, heart worm med, etc. We have to plan that work by what our bank account looks like. So taking in a new baby can sometimes delay the annual work that our other babies need. If we could have a more accurate idea of what our donations will be each month, then we could make those decisions based on that information.
PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING OUR BAND OF ANGELS
SO THAT TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE AS MANY SENIOR AND SPECIAL NEEDS BABIES AS POSSIBLE!
These folks asked their kith and kin to donate to the Sanctuary in lieu of birthday gifts.
