We were contacted on Friday Dec 30, 2022 about a starved female dachshund that had been surrendered to Frisco Emergency Vet Services in Frisco, TX. A wonderful organization, Spay it Forward Texas, funded 48 hours of intensive care to snatch the wee girl from the jaws of death. They contacted us and we of course accepted her into Team Trooper. A wonderful couple picked her up in Frisco and drove her to Colorado City, where Rick and Connie took over. She arrived at Trooper's Dream, our facility, on Sunday afternoon Jan 1, about 55 hours after she was surrendered. Small meals helped her begin healing.
We selected the name Malin because one story of the name comes from Scandinavia folklore. It means "little warrior" which seems perfect for this wee soul.
Update January 28, 2023: Malin improved rapidly with quality dog food supplemented by scrambled eggs, Trooper's favorite. See Trooper's Tale in the Pups section.
