Love language: food and treats!- Adopter needs to know: He needs to be fed separately from other dogs, but he is crate trained, which makes that easy. He’s got a dachshund nose and feet in a XL body (35lb), but he’s all dachshund at heart!
- Personality: Sammy is playful; he’s good with big and small dogs. He is also good about going outside to take care of business.
- Vanessa says: Nap time normally comes after he eats, but no matter what time it is, he does get excited to see a human!

Another one of the Grateful 8 siblings, Jack exuberates joy! The harsh conditions that defined his first year of life did not crush his innocent puppy spirit.

Sprout is a member of the Grateful 8. She is just as lovable as her siblings. As a puppy, she has a lot of energy, but she's easily worn out with some dedicated time to run around and play.

The final sibling in the Grateful 8 pack is Biscuit. He enjoys eating, playing, and just living life in the passenger seat! Biscuit has a calm temperament that makes it easier to train him. He is ready to have his own person to cuddle up to in a forever home.

Bullet
Some of you have heard his story and know of his miraculous escape from death. If you don’t know about him, though, we’d like to introduce you to Bullet! While he’s not a Dachshund, he’s a very special resident here at the Sanctuary, and we are so glad that we could help him along in his journey. (Also… check out his ears!)

AUGGIE

- Potty trained
Auggie was rescued from a shelter just before being euthanized. At 6 years old, he is still exploring the world like a curious puppy. He’s not a fan of being crated, and he loves to ride shotgun in the car. This pup will do better as the only pet, or possibly with one other sibling, as he enjoys getting attention.

Disco is the tan-spotted wonder of the litter, and like his name suggests, he’s got a little sparkle already. Born roadside after his mom, Perdita, was rescued mid-labor in Crockett, TX. Disco is one of three pups who beat the odds after their small group was abandoned. Perdita and her puppies were taken in, fostered with love, and then brought to Gardendale to grow and thrive.
Disco is still young, but he’s observant, wiggly, and full of promise. He would love a forever home that’s as ready to dance through life as he is.
